5 to 10 Jul 2008 - North and West Coasts, Iceland
Some retrospective notes - made in 2018!
Climbing along cliff tops, and having puffin for dinner.
Men collecting eider down.
Church by a fjord
Wooden church interior - Víðimýri
The interior of a turf-covered church.
0.6 second exposure at ISO100, on a tripod.
Icelandic panorama, near Ísafjörður
Three photos stitched in to a panorama.
Falls and fjord
Very woolly!
My goodness, that must be a heavy coat to tolerate, although necessary in the depths of winter.
Richard checks out the puffins at the cliffs edge
Richard getting up-close and personal with a pair of puffins at Látrabjarg, the western tip of Iceland. They really don't want to take off unless they feel there is no other option, so wait and wait and are very tolerant. This makes it very easy to take great photos of them, (and easy to catch, not that we did that!)
Puffin at clifftop
Puffin on the cliffs at Látrabjarg, the western tip of Iceland.
Are you looking at me?
Fratercula arctica - "Little brother of the north". One of the thousands of birds (mainly puffins) on the cliffs at Látrabjarg, the western tip of Iceland.
